FECAMDS stands for the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students. It is a national organization for Catholic health trainees in Nigeria that aims to promote spiritual, academic, and social development in accordance with Catholic values.
Membership is open to all Catholic students in health-related disciplines such as Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Science, Human Anatomy, Physiology, and other medical sciences.
Non-medical students may be admitted as Honorary Members if they demonstrate strong interest in FECAMDS activities and contribute to its growth.
FECAMDS recognizes three main categories:
Full Members – Catholic students in recognized medical/health-related programs.
Honorary Members – Individuals who support FECAMDS values and programs.
Alumni Members – Graduated full members who maintain active ties with their chapters.
FECAMDS has spiritual, academic, and social objectives:
To foster spiritual growth through prayer, retreats, and doctrinal teachings.
To encourage academic excellence via tutorials, seminars, and competitions.
To promote social welfare and outreach including health campaigns and visitations.

The National Convention is an annual gathering of all FECAMDS members for spiritual renewal, academic contests, social bonding, and leadership transition.
Members are entitled to:
Participation in retreats, essay/poetry competitions, and seminars.
Financial assistance in emergencies.
Bereavement and wedding support.
Awards for academic excellence, leadership, and service.
Elections are governed by the FECAMDS Constitution and are typically held during the National Convention. Members in good standing are eligible to vote and be voted for.
A new chapter must fulfill specific induction criteria as outlined in the constitution. The NEC oversees the process in collaboration with zonal and national officers.
Members should actively:
Participate in prayer meetings and NFCS activities.
Meet financial obligations.
Engage in outreach and academic programs.
Maintain discipline and represent the values of the Catholic Church.
Alumni are encouraged to:
Join their professional alumni leagues.
Support local chapters.
Attend reunions and national events.
Mentor active student members.
